The construction of the P-71 Offshore Patrol Vessel for the Armed Forces of Malta
Timelapse Malta collaborated with Cantiere Navale Vittoria and the Maltese maritime authorities on the construction of the new Offshore Patrol Vessel P-71, destined for the Armed Forces of Malta.
We were commissioned to produce a complete shipbuilding time-lapse video documenting the birth of the vessel: an offshore patrol ship of 1,800 tonnes displacement and 74.8 metres in length, one of the most significant naval projects ever carried out for Malta.
Shipbuilding is among the most demanding environments for visual documentation: long timeframes, complex operations and strict security requirements. Our devices followed the entire construction process, turning years of work into a compelling visual story for documentation and communication purposes.
