Monitoring the extension and restoration of St John’s Co-Cathedral
Timelapse Malta has been following the extension and rehabilitation project of St John’s Co-Cathedral, one of Malta’s most historically important monuments, through its smart devices for remote construction monitoring.
The project entails delicate interventions on a unique heritage site: the rehabilitation of the existing basement level, the restoration of the Bartolott Crypt, the construction of a Tapestry Hall and a Caravaggio Wing, and a new entrance and ticketing area from Merchants Street in Valletta.
On a site of this cultural significance, continuity and discretion are essential. Our fixed TLA8 devices ensure continuous monitoring of the works, providing the project team with a constant visual record of progress without interfering with the daily activity of the monument.
We are proud to play a part in preserving and enhancing one of the most extraordinary monuments in the Mediterranean.
